Blog Reflection

One blog post that I thought I did best in is: https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1450421030417298530#editor/target=post;postID=4423488689518981848;onPublishedMenu=posts;onClosedMenu=posts;postNum=2;src=postname

This blog post refers to the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi (post 2). I thought I did well in this blog because I incorporated the analysis of characters and summaries of the book (s) I've read so far. I started off by writing an introductory paragraph of what I've read over Spring Break. Afterwards, I created a list of basic characters that were played in the book (that I knew of). I added in a brief sentence or two for each character to get a good understanding of them. Subsequently, I included summaries of each book I read over spring break. I didn't give away too much and I didn't give too little. I gave away brief sections of the book that were important to know, from the beginning to the end of the novel. Finally, I assimilated in a picture that represents all five of the books in the series (The 3 novels and 2 novellas) with the site I retrieved it from. Overall, I thought this blog post demonstrated my ability to analyze through characters and novels itself.

Choice One:
Some goals I have for myself regarding future reading is to read more challenging mystery or historical fiction books. This year, I tried a historical fiction book called Little Boy Lost. It was a rough experience but I'm glad I tried it because I don't really read that much of historical fiction novels. Next year, I would like to try more of them. I would also like to try more of mystery books, like Agatha Christie. She utilizes challenging words and creates a very interesting mystery novel as well. For writing, my goal is to organize my thoughts better on paper. I would like to use TIQA more in my writing. Some things I need to improve in reading, is to spend more time reading longer books than my comfort zone (like 500-600 pages). The more I read in a book, the more I’ll be engrossed in reading and the more I’ll like reading longer. For writing, I would like to improve more on my vocabulary. For me it's very hard to find words that are advanced and to incorporate it in my writing. Over the summer, I’ll try to add more vocabulary words to my writing and have a chance to improve it next year.

Shatter Me Series (3)

An eye that represents all 3 novels.
Blog Post Due: 4/20/15

As you all know, I've been reading the Shatter Me series over spring break. At the end of spring break I finished the last 2 books in the series, Fracture Me (Novella 2.5) and Ignite Me. Fracture Me is written in the perspective of Adam (for a list of characters look in my previous post). Ignite Me is the third and last novel of the series.

Fracture Me Summary

This novella is written from the point of view of Adam. In this book, Adam expresses his feelings for his loved ones and Juliette. As it progresses, Adam realizes there are more important things in life than Juliette but he still feels like he needs her. This book takes place when the war happens.

Ignite Me Summary

A tragic event happens that ends the war. Not many people are left. Juliette gets "kidnapped" by Warner and grows a strong relationship with him. Juliette realizes he's not that bad as everyone thinks. While Juliette is in the building with Warner, Adam, Kenji, Castle and others don't even know if Juliette is alive. Once Juliette reunites with her friends, Adam has changed into a bad-different person. He doesn't love Juliette the same. Aside the relationship problems, Warner, Juliette, Adam, Castle, Kenji and more join together to take down Anderson and The Reestablishmet.

That's the end of the Shatter Me series! I hope you will read the series. It's actually the best series I've read in a very long time. I rate these books a 5/5 stars because of the intriguing plot and love that's involved in this. If you are a person that likes dystopian, romance novels, I STRONGLY suggest this series. It'll keep you hooked all the way through.

Happy reading!!
